"Today, education is perhaps the most important function of state and local governments.... In these days, it is doubtful that any child may reasonably be expected to succeed in life if he is denied the opportunity of an education. Such an opportunity, where the state has undertaken to provide it, is a right which must be made available to all on equal terms."
United States Supreme Court, Brown v. Board of Education

When do you need an Advocate/Attorney?
While we are committed to maintaining and/or restoring a positive working relationship with the school district, we also recognize that sometimes stronger advocacy may be needed because the school district has either attempted to enforce policies that are in conflict with State & Federal Laws, or has failed to offer an appropriate education. Such situations may include:
School either ignores or refuses your evaluation request, or tells you that they cannot assess until a SST meeting is held
School informs you that unless you consent to the entire IEP, they will not implement any part of the IEP
School continues to repeat old IEP goals, services, and placement, even though your child is not making adequate progress
School informs you that they can't afford the appropriate services/placement you are requesting
Regional Center informs you that they won't find eligibility or provide the services/supports necessary to assist your child with independent living
Your Child has not been receiving the Services called for in his/her IEP/504 Plan
Your Child has not made adequate progress on his/her goals and objectives
You are seeking reimbursement for the appropriate placement/services you provided for your Child at your own expense because the school district failed to do so
School continually suspends your child, and/or repeatedly calls you at home/work to pick them up from school
Your Child is either facing an expulsion proceeding, or has already been suspended or expelled from school
Your post-secondary student is not receiving the accommodations they are entitled to under the ADA
Phone Consultations Are Free of Charge
Your claim may be eligible for complete or partial contingency fee agreement.
